The term Hospices includes the hospital centre, the Hospice of Charity and above all the H\u00f4tel-Dieu. It is the latter that comes to mind when one thinks of the Hospices. The pride of Beaune and a true masterpiece of Burgundy-Flemish art, this building covered with glazed tiles was built in the 15th century. In addition to its fa\u00e7ade and its extraordinary chambre des pauvres (an immense 72-metre long room sheltered by a superb vault in the shape of the hull of an overturned ship), the H\u00f4tel-Dieu is also worth seeing for its collections.
